For anyone that might be interested, a new version of this forum software has just finished beta testing and a RC (Release Candidate) version released. I will look at upgrading during the close season or a little earlier depending on how easy the process appears to be.

Some of the changes include:
New features for users

  • A new WYSIWYG editor
  • HTML5 attachment uploading (including drag and drop)
  • Drafts
  • Likes
  • Mentions
  • Alerts for new likes, mentions, private messages, etc.
  • Event times and time zones in the Calendar
  • Time zone selection; manual hourly offsets are a thing of the past
  • Google ReCaptcha

with various other behind the scenes security and performance improvements.

Can you please put back in place the version where we were top of the league, winning every week and everyone was happy.;)

Likes will be an "interesting" feature given that there is more consensus at Westminster about Brexit than there is on here about how we played, who played well/not so well, whose fault it is/isn't for most matches. That is the beauty and the purpose of this kind of forum, we all have different opinions/perspectives.

OK, software update complete with a fresh new look and more compatible with phones/tablets.
I'm still making small adjustments so apologies in advance if any errors are encountered.

Main new features are, now able to "like" posts and mention @shinglis users in posts. With notifications in your profile area (top left corner).

Any issues with the new setup just let me know.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm new so you may not agree, but would it be possible to have facility to see what latest comments on each post is, rather than having to scroll through pages to see latest?

welcome to SRE forum and thanks for joining.

The previous version did have a side display indicating the newest posts and looking to recreate something similar but as with any new software not all the same features are available but hopefully soon.

In the meantime, you can hit the "Mark Read" button on the top right corner, which marks all the posts in that board as read, so next time you log in, you will see a "new" icon against any topics with new posts.
