QuoteAaron Drinan is on loan from Ipswich Town. The last player we had on loan from Ipswich Town was goalkeeper Tom Brown. On 6th April 1940, he played on loan on a one-off basis away to Queen of the South. In December 1945 he rejoined Ayr United on loan from Ipswich Town. That loan spell lasted until the end of the season. At the time of his 1940 appearance, he was based at a commando training centre. He was parachuted into China to help the guerrillas who were fighting the Japanese. Tom Brown was an uncle of Gordon Brown of international rugby fame. He is the goalkeeper in this Ayr United team group from 29th December 1945.
