When was the last time we won a game in the league? Unforgivable. Ran out of ideas a long time ago, need to freshen it up or we will finish 10th

Waste of time.  We are going down with or without McCall.
Here we go Ian McCall

When is the next time we will win a game in the league, that's what's worrying me.

Never if we can't beat bottom team at home.

Halfwayline

He would be gone from most Clubs before now given the recent

Couldn't even beat a mid table League 2 team at home

Things need to change but I totally disagree with this subject.
Get the team out practicing tomorrow and the next day.
St Mirren are a full time team and can practice their fancy line ups for corners they have the time to do it.
The passion is shown by some of the players but if you can't pass the ball to your team mates, don't tackle, then why are they in the team

Forest was not playing because of confidence so the AP said on Wednesday - bollocks the guy nearly scored after he came on

Stop punting the ball up the park, use the spaces, get the back four forward quicker....Etc etc..

Mon Ayr, Mon Super Ayr !!!!!!!

Ayr Apparent

I don't know how many people swallowed the 'fight and spirit' chat from last week but, having seen both of the last two games, I have seen an almost complete absence of fight and spirit. In fact, I've seen very little of it all season. At Dumbarton we got lucky, let's not pretend the team put on a battling display, they didn't. Today we were second best all over the park. No evidence of a team fighting for the club, the manager or the fans.

Ian McCall, like every manager of Ayr United, wants the best for the club, he wants the team to win every match and he wants every player to give 100% in every minute of every game. The fact is, however, the club has gone nowhere during his reign. There is no discernible shape to the team and the tactics are baffling. We appear to have abandoned a pass-it-on-the-deck methodology for a hoof-it-as-far-as-we-can-to nobody-in particular style.

Does he have the confidence of the players ? If he does, it's not evident from their performance.

If Ian McCall set up his team to play a passing, attacking style of play and we were relegated, I think most fans would be satisfied that we had at least given it a go. The way things are going, we look like we're doomed and the performances are embarrassing.

I don't agree with sacking the manager but I do want to express my dissatisfaction with the way things are going. My message is, come on Ian, give us a team to be proud of, who fight tooth and nail for the jersey, who express themselves with composure, backing one another up and taking pride in their standard of play.

Let's get some pride back on Tuesday !

We've had 15 league matches since we last won. There's only one last throw of the dice change available.

What's your suggestion? Sack McCall and replace him with who?

amaca

Things definitely don't look good but sacking Ian McCall is only going to leave the team in deeper trouble. I agree with Jeff who exactly is going to replace him - Gary Locke, Brian Reid? This is a point in the season when everyone at the club needs to pull together not look for scapegoats we still have enough time to turn it round.

It was a truly dire passionless performance today. All the players looked slightly off the pace. Harkens in particular was very slow today. I am in no doubt sacking McCall would do nothing to assist with anything. If today was a must not lose, then Tuesday is now a must win and with a good performance.

Voice of reason the most sensible post I've read anywhere tonight

I have a feeling the original poster was just looking to stir things up or perhaps it was just a heat of the moment post. As others have said sacking McCall would not solve anything, just potentially put us into crisis.

A win on Tuesday and suddenly everything looks so much healthier. That said, i have no idea where a win is coming from at the moment.

I don't disagree with most of your post but we've been in crisis for quite a few weeks now, that's the problem, almost everyone has just sat back and expected it to resolve itself under McCall, I've not seen anything from McCall that suggests he can arrest it.

We're really just hoping that the hail mary comes off and we become a full time team next season, if we drop the ball we'll consign ourselves to the diddier diddy status that our performances over the last 15 years probably deserve.

It doesn't really matter who, just need to change it. Freshen things up.  Let's face it, whoever came in can't do much worse than 0 wins in 15 matches.

The real jolly

Tho i wasnt there yesterday the performance and score were no surprise, the body language and talk was all negative our club has a losers mentality, too many players with no bottle. Saying that it doesnt help when we seem to have no idea of what we are supposed to be doing , no plans except punt it and see. The number of times we give the ball away needlessly is pathetic even against dross like clyde. We dont have any continuity , never the same team from week to week guys like forrest and cairney forced to play in several different positions every week . Not the worst but we sign Harkins as a player coach and stick him out on the left wing but hes so slow and unfit hardly an example to the rest ! We sign alagui as hes big but is he any good ? Why recall big mckenzie from cumnock? for a ten minute stint against clyde ? Wardrope is too old for the 20s gets no game time whatsoever except against clyde late on when he scores the winner then out again . Gets brought on as a sub and is expected to be up to pace right away !Hope mccall can do it but lets see against raith, and then hibs, our players shouldnt fear any opposition but need some organisation and belief installed into them from the management instead of the pathetic type of hoofball we see now .
