i understand the sentiment of people not getting too excited about this one, but Weirdly, i think this will be a big indicator of how far we've come, in terms of mentality. this competition has not been taken seriously enough in recent years IMO and Id like to see us go and try and put a marker down for the season . They've just been promoted, we finished 8th last season, i'd expect to see us come out firing and show that we wont be down that end of the table this time round.

yes Marko has gone and we are all UNITED now...here we go...

Makes a bit more exciting though if we get drawn a team that's not in our league.

Just like the jpt in England it is the trophy no supporter cares about until the final

Anything that builds momentum for the team in my opinion is a good thing.
Having a good run in the Petrofac Cup would enthuse and energise the support.
It will also be a good indicator of what we can expect from the new players in the team
for the season ahead.

£10 for this/£5 concessions for Albion Rovers this Saturday, and same price again for the Brechin match the following week. We needthefans to turn out in bigger numbers, manager calls us "invaluable".

Really looking forward to Saturday, glad to have the friendlies done with so the competitive stuff can start. Anyone know if Forrest will be back? Not read the Ayrshire post yet so don't know if it says anything about him.

Dont think Forrest is ready yet hes meant to have had a hernia op

Rorymac92

Ah fair play. No point in rushing him back after something like that. If that's the case I'd like McCall to give Nizzy a start out wide rather than playing Gilmour. Mind you I can see him playing Robbie Crawford wide right and starting with Docherty and Adams in the middle, not a big fan of Robbie being played out there though. I imagine Murphy will be back at centre half tomorrow which would be good.

Warm and sunny on the cards. A decent vocal crowd would be nice.

MOD67

They will be decent...........2-1 us Trouten and Caldwell

The real jolly

Don't know if it's just me but what has Robbie done to earn a place ?

MOD67

("Don't know if it's just me but what has Robbie done to earn a place ?") no jolly it's not just you and theirs a couple of others, but hopefully they will give themselves a shake or McCall should hunt!! however quite positive about the season everybody fit and of course not knowing who else to come in I would go

No Forrest today he hasn't trained all week, still recovering from Hernia op. Could maybe expect first league game to be earliest opportunity to have him back. Great chance to get Nisbet a couple of games.

And they must take their chances when they come. Hopefully our management can extract more from our players this season...
