Just seen the fixtures for the development league west are up on the SPFL website:

First home game is Stranraer on the 7th of September, a wee while away but I quite fancy heading along to more of the development games this year so this one's going in the calendar.

Ayr 4 v 0 Stranraer , game spoiled a wee bit by Ref sending off the young Stranraer midfielder for handball on the line ( technically the correct decision ) after about 10 mins. Ayr never in danger after Nissy converted the penalty and with the extra man enjoyed the bulk of the ball from that point on but the young Stranraer boys stuck to their task.

The real jolly

Saw 2nd half  and though ayr were never in danger I thought they could have kept possession and moved the ball around better to create openings instead of just hitting aimless long balls a lot of the time, also could have played with width to stretch and tire out a beaten side .Puzzled by lack of talking and guidance to the boys from the dug oot.Dissapointed by Nizzy who has pace but poor game awareness, always running offside.Mckenzie tries but struggled.Young right winger sub did well and could have done more damage if he kept wide and kept it simple.Wardrobe has played better would like to see him release it quicker. The boy Faulds beside him was excellent.Muir also coming on hopefully pushes on .All in all potential there on an excellent pitch just not sure of the 20s management team ?

Agree Jolly . 1st half was much the same . Ayr dominated and scored 2 good goals only to be chalked off . Ayr on top 1st half and I thought the lad McCready was tidy on the ball picking out some great forward passes to Nisbit and McKenzie and looked dangerous . He didnt appear 2nd half . The sub Johnstone looked good when he came on , very direct . Wardrobe worked away but looks like he needs games as well as Muir . Too many long balls for my liking especially when they obviously have footballers in the lad Faulds . McCready and Wardope . McCracken and Woods were never in danger in defence . Jolly I thought our 20s had another coach last year who was more vocal with the coaching during the games  ?

Jolly - Agree - Fauldsy was Ayr MOTM , however would have liked to have seen 11 v 11 as with the extra man plenty of time on the ball tonight for the big man. Had a good game though , good to see two " survivors " from last years 17s with Ballantyne also on the park.

Ayr will have a good season at 20s this year , team is mature apart from Faulds & Ballantyne who are the youngsters.
